So in the advent of a new shift at work – that will become semi-permanent (I am beyond excited about this), I will be getting back into the fitness regime I left behind in the UK when I moved over here.
And it starts at 7am on Monday morning. I’ve a personal trainer to start with and I’m focussing on strength and stamina like I was before. I wanted to get back into a martial art but I’m going with boxing instead. The key thing here is next year I want to go back to Snowdon and climb that mother faster than I have before and then tackle the three peaks in the Dales again (Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough). If I can do all three in one hit – the better for it.
And yes, I do have weight to shift. I’ve accumulated about a stone of comfort around my middle and arms, and if I can get rid of that I would be really happy. Considering for most of my adult life so far I have had a very healthy weight of 9.5 stone. The fact I’m nearer 11 stone now is annoying me. Yes, it is all to do with the medication that I am on (freaking contraception) but it doesn’t mean I can’t make an effort to manage it.
So at 7am on Monday it all begins…
